Faculty Recognition Week includes Heritage, Distinguished Professor awards

Tod Hall Leaders hosted a breakfast this week as part of Faculty Recognition Week.

The celebration continued with the annual Faculty Recognition Awards in Kilcawley Center.

At the banquet, Louis Zona, retired professor and chair of Art, and Stephen Hanzely, retired professor and chair of Physics and Astronomy, received the 2016 Heritage Award. The award, started in 1981, is considered the highest honor for former employees. Also, retired YSU Provost Ikram Khawaja officially accepted the Heritage Award. Khawaja was selected to receive the award in 2015 but was not able to attend last year’s event.

In addition, the following faculty members received Distinguished Professor Awards for 2015-16:
